Needs for Diplomacy

I have this problem in my carrier as a leader, that when somebody or or a powerful one is empower to role instead. I have meet this kind of problem when powerful politicians were empowered to appoint new teachers rather than me. The different between the two was the lack of information. The politicians only appoint but were no able to screened fully whom to be appointed. While if the the head of the school is the opposite. I hope we are given the chance to do the same instead of the new trend. I am requesting concern person to support us for this fight. The teachers who qualify may not satisfy the choice of the politicians, politically wise.

You might have a misconception about the spelling of "career" meaning vocation or long-term job. The spelling "carrier" refers to something to carry, and does not seem appropriate in the context you use it in this post and in the introduction. Good luck with improving your high school, we need better schools and more principals dedicated to improving their schools.

I think.. you have the point! but carrier seems like carrier as in profession. just like " carrier examination, sub-professional and professional level". But look, I appreciate it really and I will study it further. Thank you very much!

I found a lot of interesting material in your blog, including thw way you share your life situation. I hope you can share more about the situation (problems, opportunities) in your school. I am interested in science-and-math education in Philippine high schools (I am adviser to some specialized high schools), and the language problem for your math students is a problem all over the Philippines. Have you experimented with using the children's native language in class? Perhaps you can ask the students who already get it to help by explaining their understanding in their own words, first in Maranao then in English. They could also help produce written instructional materials combining the two languages, and helping the the transition from the language they think in to the language of wider communication. Keep sharing your experiences, and if there is any way interested observers can help over the Internet, it never hurts to ask. Maybe I can produce a guest posting on some topic you ask me to write on. Keep up the good work - Fred K., Cebu City

I myself is handling elementary Algebra,Advance Algebra and Geometry. I use that suggestion because I can feel the emptiness of my students when I'm explaining solely in English. I translated all possible words and terms related to mathematics, but there are expressions and terms that I fail to translate. As a Maranaw, English is our third language, and I found out the difficulty in translating other related terms.
Just like variables, I explain it to the best that I can into real life situation; That variable X could be a T-shirt that can be worn by any student, and call it "blue t-shirt of Mariam" for instance, lokewise an X or the value of X is true for all X in the equation. a variable I added could be any letter in the alphabet and constant is any number and must equal to itself. Example; 2X=4, where 2 and 4 are constants, and 2=2;,4=4 and dependent with X. While X is independent to the constant. The value of X is 2 and must be true for all X in the equation. To check, both sides must be equal, in reference to the original equation.

During Examinations, I give the detailed instructions. I provide sample questions answered and serves as a bonus for I declined to record zero score. I even translate the instructions to Maranaw, but am really disappointed to find out that even the bonus question was not taken and few got zero. They cannot account what a bonus is.

Our latest trend is to have the elective math, popularly known as arithmetic. We supported them with the basic arithmetic. This in addition to our regular lesson for we cannot distract the regular lesson. An Elementary algebra for instance is a pre-requisite to Advance Algebra in second year. We must implement it regrsless of who and who cannot comprehend This is our first year of launching this approach. I'll be feeding up the result in the end of this school year. Mean while, we are having 1hour lectures to all teachers in Mathematics, to upgrade teachers and to fill up absences of Math teachers so that any body can qualify to sub the absent teacher. Two of us in the school acted as lecturers, me and Engr. Cesar T. Mike.

Sir I'm very thankful if you can in any other way help and support us. To this date, only books in Aralin and English were provided recently by Department of Education. For other areas, we are expecting supply, that include mathematics. Only the teachers have the copy. this was also our worries, no available mathematic books.
